About John Dutton: John is a cosmopolitan award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles. 

John's passion lies in creating science and nature documentaries and has writing credits on films written and developed for the Austrian National broadcaster, ORF and their multi award-winning blue-chip science and natural history film production partners. Recent successes include a two-part series The Canary Islands - Life at the Limit (Grand Prix, Festival de L'oiseu), and Forest of the Lynx (multiple award winning and Emmy Award® Documentary Nominated for Best Cinematography).

His diverse film experience ranges from his award-winning leatherback sea turtle film, The Jurassic Journey to music videos with Nashville's country music ‘superstars’ such as John Fogerty, Travis Tritt, Michael Ball, and comedian Bill Engvall, to e-learning course for whale disentanglement training. He has been behind the camera on the red carpets of Hollywood and filmed behind-the-scenes on Pearl Harbor for Herzog Productions, as well as the making-of Oprah’s 50th mega-birthday celebration, and a documentary about James Dean for producer John Goldstone (producer of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Monty Python's Life of Brian etc). 

John's nature footage has been used by the BBC / Animal Planet Europe and US news stations ABC and KQED. John also creates science-based nature and wildlife films for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Smithsonian Institute, as well as for conservation groups such as The Nature Conservancy, WWF, WildCoast International, Ocean Ecology Network, ProNatura and others.
